Description

Nitinol, often referred to as Ni-Ti is among the shape memory alloys to be had. The shape memory effect comes from the mixture of nickel and titanium transferring between the martensite and austenite phases of crystal structure. Basically, what this looks like is you have a wire that you’ll straighten, bend into any shape, mash, and so forth. and then place it in hot water to watch it come back to its original shape. The uses for this are endless. These make wonderful magic tricks for when you dunk the wire into any person’s coffee, the wire turns into the card that they have got in their hand. They are great for birthday parties to see your child’s amazement when this simple piece of wire turns into their name when any person ‘by accident’ spills coffee on it. Other uses include robotics, heat engines, science projects, practical jokes, artery stents for a bypass surgery, the only limitation is your creativity.
